The thought process behind my project is that I wanted to show the inequality between the lives of the poor and the rich. It’s almost like there’s an invisible wall dividing the two and it’s unbreakable and uncrossable. This is shown by the brick fencing that the poor people are kept behind. Although the government and some of us are always trying to stop this injustice, we need more help. The snow in my painting represents situations like Covid-19 where poor people become vulnerable like being stuck in the middle of a snow storm. How can people just sit around and do nothing when there are others sleeping on the streets with no money to care for their children? I hope my piece will inspire people to hold a hammer and be the ones to break the invisible wall and end poverty.
